Duration: 2-year fixed-term appointment and fixed-term parental leave backfill appointment until 26 January 2027

Remuneration: Pro-rata of $123,138 - $146,228 pa Level B (plus 17% employer superannuation)

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for two experienced General Practitioners to join the Department of General Practice within the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine.

These roles will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, industry-informed teaching across the medical program, supporting students undertaking general practice learning and clinical education activities. Working closely with the General Practice Curriculum and Assessment Lead and broader teaching team, you will help shape engaging and practice-oriented learning experiences informed by contemporary clinical expertise.

The Lecturer (Practice) will contribute to teaching, curriculum development and student learning activities across the general practice program. Drawing on your clinical expertise and professional networks, you will help strengthen the connection between academic learning and real-world healthcare practice.

The role will involve:

  • Preparation and delivery of seminars, tutorials and workshops 

  • Student assessment, marking and learning support 

  • Contributing to curriculum development and professional practice teaching activities 

  • Supporting student wellbeing and engagement during general practice rotations 

  • Building and maintaining relationships across clinical and community healthcare settings 

  • Contributing to professional engagement and broader faculty initiatives 

These positions are ideally suited to experienced clinicians seeking to contribute to medical education while maintaining strong links to contemporary general practice.

About You

You will bring:

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) 

  • Current medical registration with AHPRA 

  • Experience working within general practice or relevant clinical settings 

  • Demonstrated teaching, mentoring or clinical supervision experience 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 

  • A collaborative and student-focused approach to teaching and learning 

  • A commitment to excellence in medical education and professional practice 

Experience in undergraduate or postgraduate medical teaching will be highly regarded.
