The Opportunity

The Centre for Health Economics is seeking a Research Officer to join the Patient-Centred Evaluation (PACE) of health technologies research program. The role provides high-quality research and administrative support across a range of activities, including coordinating surveys, focus groups and interviews, recruiting participants, managing data across sub-studies, and supporting the delivery of program outcomes. The position operates within established research protocols and compliance requirements to ensure a safe and well-managed research environment.

Working within a co-designed, cross-disciplinary program, the Research Officer will collaborate with decision-makers, patient representatives, researchers and health economists across multiple Australian universities and organisations. The role also involves preparing research documentation, maintaining compliance with relevant standards, and contributing to continuous improvement, with opportunities to further develop research skills and support the dissemination of research outputs.

As the successful candidate, you will bring a relevant degree with subsequent experience, or an equivalent combination of education and expertise, along with strong analytical, technical and research skills. You will be highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate projects through to completion, and work both independently and collaboratively while exercising sound judgement and initiative.

You will have demonstrated experience coordinating surveys, focus groups and interviews, recruiting participants for qualitative and quantitative studies, and managing research data. A strong understanding of research protocols, ethics, confidentiality and compliance is essential, along with highly developed communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. Experience with research technologies and systems, and knowledge of health technology assessment processes, will be highly regarded.
