The Opportunity

The Senior Lecturer (Education-focused) sits within the Business School Online Education (BSOE) unit and plays a key role in advancing innovative, high-quality teaching and learning across Monash Business School’s online portfolio. Working closely with the Director, Program Development within the Leadership and Executive Education (LEE) group, the role contributes to the strategic and operational delivery of programs including the MBA (Digital), as well as new and existing online and blended postgraduate offerings. It also supports broader initiatives across online education, industry engagement, and leadership development, while maintaining a strong partnership with OES to ensure excellence in digital course delivery and student experience.

As a Level C education-focused academic, the role is expected to demonstrate leadership in curriculum design, delivery, and continuous improvement, alongside a strong commitment to educational scholarship and innovation. The successful candidate will lead teaching activities, contribute to program coordination, and build capability in digital pedagogy across the School.

A key component of the position is undertaking the role of Course Director for the MBA (Digital) for an initial three-year term, providing academic leadership and oversight to ensure the ongoing quality, relevance, and success of the program.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will hold a PhD or equivalent accreditation and standing, with a strong record of scholarly and professional achievement in a relevant discipline. You will bring demonstrated excellence in teaching, particularly within MBA programs and online delivery, alongside experience in curriculum development and course leadership. Your background will reflect a commitment to educational innovation and scholarship, supported by scholarly research, and/or professional activities relevant to the profession or discipline.

You will possess highly developed interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, students, industry partners and the broader community. With a clear passion for academic leadership, you will contribute to mentoring and supervising students, fostering teaching capability in others, and actively engaging in school, faculty and university initiatives. Your ability to plan, organise and deliver outcomes in dynamic environments, combined with experience contributing to committees and promoting the discipline, will ensure your success in this role.
