The Opportunity
In this exciting new opportunity, the Director, Enterprise and Strategic Opportunities (Health and Life Sciences) will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the University’s strategic partnerships and research initiatives. This highly entrepreneurial position is focused on identifying, cultivating and delivering transformational opportunities across the health and life sciences ecosystem, attracting significant external investment and enabling world-class research outcomes. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior internal stakeholders and external partners, the Director will lead the strategic engagement with a broad portfolio of health and life science flagship research, connecting industry, government and philanthropic organisations with the University’s strengths to drive strategic, impactful partnerships.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Director will build and manage a robust pipeline of complex, multi-million-dollar opportunities, leading initiatives from early horizon scanning through to contract execution and long-term partnership success. The role requires deep sector expertise, strategic agility and commercial acumen. Leveraging their exceptional relationship management capabilities, the Director will act as a trusted advisor to senior executives and lead effectively across complex multi-stakeholder environments and organisational boundaries. By developing enterprise-wide strategies, uplifting institutional capability, and representing Monash at the executive level, the Director will position the University at the forefront of health and life sciences innovation - delivering sustainable growth in research income, strengthening global reputation, and enabling meaningful societal impact.
