The Opportunity

The Senior Triage Disability Advisor plays a pivotal role in supporting Disability Support Services at Monash University by delivering high-level coordination, triage, and administrative support. This position ensures students are guided efficiently through intake and registration processes, enabling timely and effective support. With a strong focus on process excellence and sound judgement, the role streamlines workflows, resolves straightforward matters, and facilitates the escalation of complex cases to enhance student outcomes.

This position will be responsible for assessing student-submitted medical documentation to ensure it meets registration requirements, while providing clear guidance where further information is needed. It will allocate cases through a triage system that considers case complexity and adviser workload, ensuring urgent matters are prioritised and escalated appropriately. The role will guide students through registration processes, maintain accurate and compliant records, and provide responsive administrative support across phone and email channels. In addition, it will manage a caseload of students requiring disability support, coordinate appointments, contribute to project delivery, and collaborate with colleagues across Monash. Building strong stakeholder relationships and contributing to continuous service improvement will also be essential in this role.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent administrative and organisational skills, with a proven ability to develop and implement effective processes and manage competing priorities. You will bring a strong commitment to customer service, alongside the ability to work both independently and collaboratively while exercising sound judgement and initiative. Highly developed communication skills will enable you to engage with diverse stakeholders and resolve issues effectively. You will also demonstrate strong computer literacy, a solid understanding of disability documentation and compliance requirements, and experience in assessing disability impacts within relevant legislative frameworks.
