The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Research Manager to play a key leadership role in advancing research strategy, performance and impact within a research-intensive biomedical environment. Working closely with senior academic leaders, this position leads strategic research initiatives, oversees high-quality research support services, and contributes to the growth of a competitive research portfolio. The role also fosters collaboration between researchers, the University and external partners to support aligned and sustainable research success.

This position leads a research services team delivering grant development and research capacity-building programs across major funding schemes, including NHMRC, MRFF and ARC opportunities. The role supports research excellence through initiatives that enhance grant competitiveness, research quality and impact, while fostering the development of early and mid-career researchers. The Senior Research Manager also leads the administration of the clinical trial program at the medical precinct, ensuring robust research governance and practices are upheld.  Working across the Sub-Faculty, the position coordinates strategic research support activities, builds key partnerships and ensures alignment with institutional priorities and emerging opportunities.

We are seeking an experienced research manager within a complex research-intensive environment, with outstanding leadership, team management and stakeholder engagement skills.  Relevant postgraduate qualifications and/or equivalent senior management experience will be highly regarded, along with expertise in research funding environments, research strategy, capacity building programs and providing high-level advice. Superior communication, analytical and organisational skills, and the ability to build productive relationships and drive continuous improvement, are also essential for success.

Join a collaborative and high-performing research environment where you can contribute to meaningful research outcomes, shape strategic direction and support the continued growth and success of a leading biomedical research community. We look forward to receiving your application.
