The Opportunity

Join the School of Chemistry as a Research Officer to provide high-quality research services that support operations of the Water Studies Lab. In this role you will perform a range of complex research activities that play a critical role in supporting the delivery of consulting and research program outcomes. 

You will be responsible for coordinating and delivering research and administrative activities. This involves undertaking tasks such as experiments, field work and coordination, data collection and analysis, and the preparation of reports and research documentation. The Research Officer will also use specialized equipment, develop operating procedures, and assist with planning and scheduling, all while ensuring a compliant and safe research environment. 

The Research Officer works closely with researchers, clients, staff and students to understand the research requirements and operates with excellence in process and judgement to provide efficient research services in accordance with research protocols and standards. 

As a successful candidate, you will bring strong technical research and data analysis expertise, with experience operating, calibrating and maintaining analytical instrumentation, ideally within water quality analysis environments.
