Remuneration: $86,344 - $99,179 pa HEW Level 05 (plus 17% employer superannuation)

The Opportunity

Finance Operations underpins Monash’s research, teaching and operations through precise, efficient, and service-driven support. We manage more than 100,000 purchase orders and invoices annually, process payments for 18,000+ vendors, oversee non-student income with real-time financial insights, and have strong governance and stewardship of Monash financial systems. 

We are seeking a Senior Payment Services Officer to join our team in providing high-quality administrative service to support the effective operation of the Payment Services Division. You will have previous exposure to applying tax laws, policies and the highest standard of customer service. 

Some key areas of focus include:

  • Providing excellence in operational administrative, expense management and financial control processes through the review and audit of expense claims in accordance with University policies, procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Providing sound, accurate and timely advice to support all stakeholders, including staff, students, visitors and approvers, in relation to expense claims, travel, corporate card administration and reimbursement processes.
  • Implementing and delivering a range of expense management services, including the processing of staff expenses, visitor and student reimbursement claims, and supporting efficient and compliant financial operations.
  • Administering and maintaining expense management systems including Concur and processing via Frevvo, undertaking corporate card administration activities and ensuring the accurate processing of expense-related transactions.
  • Processing journals relating to travel and expense transactions, investigating anomalies, resolving discrepancies and maintaining the integrity of financial records.
  • Maintaining excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders in accordance with University policies and procedures, financial delegations, taxation requirements and auditing standards.
