The Opportunity

Monash Nursing & Midwifery has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Lecturer and Work Integrated Learning Director to lead one of Australia's largest clinical placement portfolios. This pivotal position provides strategic oversight of more than 70,000 clinical placement days each year, fostering strong partnerships with health services and industry to deliver high-quality clinical learning experiences for nursing and midwifery students. Working collaboratively across the School, Faculty and healthcare sector, the role will drive the strategic direction, policy development and continuous improvement of Work Integrated Learning, supporting excellence in education and student outcomes.

Balancing strategic leadership with academic responsibilities, this position combines leadership of the Work Integrated Learning portfolio with teaching and research activities across Nursing and Midwifery programs. The role will enhance clinical placement planning and operations, build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, contribute to curriculum development and delivery, unit coordination, and support research, research supervision and academic mentorship. This is an exceptional opportunity to influence the future of clinical education while advancing scholarship within a collaborative and innovative academic environment.

We are seeking someone who is an experienced Registered Nurse or Midwife with current AHPRA registration, advanced qualifications and/or significant professional experience in clinical placement, work integrated learning or nursing and midwifery education. Demonstrated expertise in strategic leadership, stakeholder engagement, tertiary teaching, research and postgraduate supervision will also be highly regarded.
