About the Role
Monash Law has a longstanding reputation for academic excellence, innovation and real-world impact. From its internationally recognised Clinical Legal Education program to deep industry partnerships and a commitment to social justice, the Faculty is preparing the next generation of legal professionals while delivering meaningful impact for the communities it serves.
We're seeking an accomplished and strategic marketing leader to lead the Faculty's Marketing Services function at a pivotal time. Reporting to the Faculty General Manager, you'll provide leadership across marketing, communications, student recruitment and events, helping to elevate the Faculty's profile, strengthen its reputation and deliver measurable outcomes aligned to the Faculty's strategic priorities.
This is an opportunity to influence the direction and reputation of one of Australia's most respected law faculties, while leading a team through an exciting period of opportunity and growth. Some of your key duties will include but not be limited to:
- Lead a multidisciplinary team, creating a culture of collaboration, capability and high performance.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement through the development of integrated marketing, communications, recruitment and engagement strategies.
- Provide trusted strategic advice to senior leaders using market insights, data and emerging trends to identify opportunities and inform decision making.
- Build strong partnerships across the University and with external stakeholders to maximise impact and strengthen the Faculty's profile.

This is a role for a strong senior marketing leader, with demonstrable experience as an effective people leader. You have the ability to see improvements within teams, and bring people together along the journey to a new way of working, while driving change. You possess the strategic capability to see the bigger picture while ensuring plans translate into results. You are also comfortable advising senior leaders, influencing across a large matrix organisation and empowering your team to deliver high-quality outcomes.
You know how to bring clarity to complexity, build confidence through change and create an environment where people can collaborate and perform at their best. You're an authentic leader who isn't afraid to have courageous conversations, make decisions and establish clear expectations while supporting and developing your team.
You'll bring:
- Demonstrated success leading marketing, communications or events functions in complex organisations.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate insight into action.
- A proven track record of leading organisational change and continuous improvement.
- Strong leadership capability, with experience building capability, leading through change and developing high-performing teams.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the credibility to advise senior executives.
- Experience managing competing priorities, allocating resources effectively and delivering results through others.
- Strong financial management, planning and governance capability.
