The Opportunity

Reporting to the ERP Finance Lead, the focus of the Senior Finance Business Analyst role will be to lead the analysis and design of finance-related business processes and solutions for Monash University’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Program. Serving as a key link between finance operations, eSolutions, and the implementation team, you will strengthen business analysis capabilities while providing strategic, authoritative advice across financial transactions, reconciliations, reporting, system configuration, and control environments.

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the analysis, design, and process reengineering of complex, end-to-end finance processes and target-state operating models.
  • Setting and governing standards for finance requirements, traceability, financial controls, compliance, and data integrity across system build and integration phases.
  • Directing the analysis of finance data, interfaces, batch scheduling, system logs, and postings across enterprise systems and satellite applications.
  • Leading stakeholder engagement, solution validation, user testing, cutover, and operational readiness to ensure delivered solutions meet rigorous business needs.

To be successful in this role, you will have postgraduate qualifications in a computing or business discipline alongside extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of high-level experience and training. Ideally, you will bring extensive experience leading business analysis on large-scale ERP or financial system implementations, alongside an advanced knowledge of core financial operations, end-of-day processing, and complex reconciliation flows. Superior analytical, consulting, and stakeholder management skills - including the ability to articulate complex financial and technical concepts to executive leaders - will be vital to your success.
