The Opportunity
Reporting to the ERP Finance Lead, the focus of the ERP Senior Finance Specialist – Controlled Entities role will be to apply deep, specialised domain expertise to guide the design, configuration, and build of the new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. Serving as a critical bridge between business operations and the technical implementation team, you will hold enterprise-wide accountability for designing, establishing, and governing the financial architecture, management reporting structures, statutory compliance, and consolidation frameworks across all Monash University controlled entities and international subsidiaries.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading ERP configuration and testing activities specific to controlled entity financial operations, including intercompany transactions and consolidation processes
- Partnering with finance and technology stakeholders to map current-state processes and translate requirements into system solutions
- Providing subject matter expertise on chart of accounts, financial reporting frameworks, and entity-level compliance obligations
- Supporting end-user training, documentation, and change management activities across impacted finance teams
What You'll Bring
- Demonstrated experience in a senior finance or systems role within a large, complex organisation - ideally with exposure to university controlled entities or government-related structures
- Hands-on ERP implementation or configuration experience, with strong knowledge of finance modules
- Solid understanding of Australian accounting standards and consolidation principles as they apply to controlled entities
- Proven ability to translate technical finance requirements into clear system and process documentation
- CPA or CA qualification, or equivalent professional experience
- Experience working within Monash University's financial systems environment, or familiarity with its entity structure, is highly regarded
