The Opportunity
As the Senior Stores Purchasing Officer, you will provide high-quality purchasing, inventory and administrative services to support the effective operation of the Stores within the Purchasing Services Team. You will maintain appropriate stock levels, manage purchasing and receiving processes, monitor usage trends and provide responsive support to staff and students, including the physical handling, movement and storage of goods.
You will also provide advice on occupational health and safety requirements, including the safe handling, storage and disposal of hazardous and temperature-sensitive materials. Working with internal and external stakeholders, you will help deliver an efficient, customer-focused stores service while ensuring purchasing, inventory and physical handling activities comply with University policies and procedures.
About You
You will have excellent administration, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, analyse data and identify trends, resolve issues effectively, and deliver high-quality customer service.
You will have highly developed computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office and purchasing or inventory management systems such as SAP and COUPA. Knowledge of chemicals, laboratory consumables and equipment, and the safe handling of hazardous materials will be highly regarded, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively while exercising initiative and sound judgement.
