The Role

Are you a news-breaker and a self-starter who immerses themselves in their community to unearth original, unique, and engaging stories? The ABC Goulburn Murray team based in Shepparton is seeking an experienced reporter to deliver cracking content every day across the Goulburn Valley for digital, radio, TV, and social platforms. If you are creative, super organised and want to inform our diverse audience, you’ll love working for our accomplished news team.

The Job

  • Work with the team to create content for all platforms for local, state, and national audiences.
  • Produce and present news, interviews, and breaking stories
  • Suggest unique, fresh content ideas to engage more people.
  • Support emergency coverage and liaise with stakeholders.
  • Create stories that reflect Australia's diversity.

About You

You'll have: 

  • Qualifications in journalism or equivalent experience
  • Strong at creating breaking and original content for multiple platforms
  • Excellent editorial judgement and information gathering
  • Passion for telling diverse Australian stories
  • Proven ability to build community contacts
  • Deep understanding of local issues in the Goulburn Valley
  • Commitment to authentic, inclusive content
