The Role
Are you a motivated and multi-skilled content creator? Do you have a passion for breaking news, telling local stories and sharing conversations on radio and digital platforms? ABC Wide Bay is on the hunt for a Producer to join the local team. We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Producer to produce programs and create original and distinctive content.
Join the ABC Wide Bay team located in Bundaberg. The Wide Bay and Fraser Coast regions are bursting with natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. With a vibrant coastal community and diverse agricultural industries, it is one of the fastest growing regions in Australia and includes the major centres of Gympie, Hervey Bay, Maryborough and Bundaberg. It is also the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, sits on the doorstep to K'gari (Fraser Island) and takes in the small towns of the inland Burnett.
The Job
- Create content for multiple platforms to reach diverse audiences.
- Support production, callers, and guests.
- Assist with emergency coverage and stakeholder communication.
- Share and cross-promote ABC content.
- Produce stories reflecting Australia’s diversity.
- Engage with communities to tell relevant stories.

About You
You'll have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Strong skills in creating original, engaging audio and cross-platform content.
- Solid editorial judgment, information analysis, and decision-making in fast-paced news.
- Ability to create authentic content representing Australia’s cultural and Indigenous diversity.
- Ongoing passion for stories that reflect Australia’s diversity.
- Proven ability to build and maintain community contacts.
