The Role
Join ABC Radio Canberra as a Program Producer and create engaging audio and digital content for a local audience. You’ll contribute to distinctive local radio programs, content campaigns, outside broadcasts, and community engagement initiatives that elevate ABC Canberra’s presence and connect with the Canberra community.
The Job
- Create engaging content for multiple platforms under the direction of the Content Director.
- Produce distinctive material that connects with local audiences.
- Provide in-studio production support and manage callers and guests.
- Support the Local Emergency Coverage plan and liaise with stakeholders.
- Develop local stories for sharing across ABC content teams.
- Cross-promote ABC content to boost audience engagement.
- Generate stories that reflect the ACT's cultural, geographic, and socio-economic diversity.

About You
You’re a creative storyteller with strong editorial skills and a passion for connecting with audiences.
You’ll have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent skills and experience.
- Strong program-making skills with experience in audio and cross-platform content.
- Solid editorial skills, including sourcing and analysing information with sound judgment.
- Proven ability to build and maintain community contacts.
- Passion for telling stories that reflect Australia’s diversity.
- Commitment to creating authentic content representing Australia’s cultural and linguistic diversity, including Indigenous communities when editorially relevant.
