The Role
The ABC is looking for an Executive Producer to lead in shaping one of the ABC’s flagship current affairs programs. Guide a highly skilled team to produce impactful, high-quality television and multiplatform journalism that keeps 7.30 at the forefront of Australia’s national conversation. Your experience and editorial judgement will ensure the program continues to deliver relevant, compelling and comprehensive current affairs coverage each day.
The Job
- Lead editorial, creative, and management direction to uphold ABC’s high journalistic and editorial standards.
- Drive 7.30’s editorial agenda, ensuring independence, integrity, and accuracy across all content.
- Expand 7.30’s reach through innovative digital publishing, mobile video, and social media.
- Foster a diverse, inclusive, and high-performing team culture that encourages creativity and excellence.
- Provide strong leadership, guiding staff to deliver quality multiplatform journalism.
- Ensure compliance with WHS, fatigue management, and ABC workplace policies.
- Oversee budgets, resources, and operational efficiency in line with ABC guidelines.
- Collaborate on strategies to grow 7.30’s audience

About You
You'll have:
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Senior journalist with strong leadership and editorial skills.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
- Creative vision for engaging, high-quality journalism.
- Expertise in television and live current affairs production.
- Skilled in managing digital and social media output.
- Commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Experience managing budgets and key industry relationships
