Position summary


Downer’s Road Services business, DM Roads, is one of the largest non-government owned road services businesses in Australia. With the experience of maintaining more than 36,000 kilometres of road in Australia, DM Roads understands the cycle of planning, delivery and review of maintenance and improvement works. DM Roads is involved in many exciting ventures within the civil road industry throughout the county.

We have an exciting long-term career opportunity for an experienced Supervisor or Leading Hand looking for their next career move. Based in either Port Pirie or Port Augusta, SA this role will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of teams responsible for the delivery of routine sealed road maintenance and minor civil works across regional road maintenance contracts. The successful candidate will maintain on time delivery and budget performance as well as ensuring works are undertaken in a safe and efficient manner, in compliance with both contractual and statutory requirements.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience supervising or leading a team within Civil Construction, Maintenance, Landscaping, or a similar industry.
  • Demonstrated success in managing crews and the planning and allocation of works.
  • The ability to drive accountability through the workforce.
  • Commitment to quality outcomes with a focus on delivering in full and on time.
  • A successful track record of proactively building relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong skills in planning and scheduling.
  • A strong safety focus with demonstrated evidence of actively promoting and sustaining a Zero Harm environment.
