MMG Rosebery
Rosebery is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in Tasmania, Australia. The mine is a deep, sub-level open stoping operation with complex mining conditions.
The Rosebery Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmania’s largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold doré.
It supports approximately 500 employees and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.
The mine has a strong future, with extensive exploration activities which have continued to grow the resource and require mine planning beyond 10 years of continued operation.
Charge Up Operator
Key Accountabilities (however not limited to):
Reporting to the Underground Shift Supervisor you will ensure that all aspects of operations are carried out safely and efficiently in accordance with Company and Legislative standards and procedures.
This is a permanent position offered on a 7:7 roster.
Responsibilities include (however not limited to):
- Following shift plan instructions as directed by your supervisor, ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained at all times
- Charging development headings and production stopes.
- Handling and transporting explosive materials in a safe manner.
- Working collaboratively with the team to ensure production targets are met.
- Safe operation of an Integrated Tool Carrier
- Real time communication with Mine Control of all physical measures and delays
- Completion and submission of all required shift reports and documentation to the Shift Supervisor
- Conducting a thorough, timely and informative end of shift handover with your cross shift
- Attend and actively participate in all required site and MMG training courses and meetings
- Ensure that all assigned vehicles are operated in a safe and clean condition at all times
- Using all provided equipment safety and within its design capability and purpose
- Carrying out effective high quality workplace inspections, ensuring correct signage (warning/hazards) are used and maintained at all times according to site standards and procedures.
- Reporting of all incidents and hazards to your Shift Supervisor immediately
About You:
- Shot Firers licence
- 3+ years experience in a similar role
- Hold a DGSC or willing to apply for one
- Experience with working in production and development crews or operating in this environment with an extensive knowledge off underground mining equipment and techniques.
- Ability to communicate clearly and conduct detailed handovers with supervisors, cross shift and other relevant departments.
- Complete and carry out comprehensive and detailed end-of-shift communications
- A willingness to partake in Pre-Employment Medical and D&A Screen and Background checks.
- A manual C Class driver’s license.
- First aid certificate – desirable.
- Hold a current Working at Heights Certificate
