Dugald River mine is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017.
The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine’s power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.
Dugald River employs around 800 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis.
Leading Hand – ROM Processing
Take the lead and support the Supervisor in ensuring smooth, consistent ROM operations across all aspects. You’ll manage handovers, support operator training, oversee equipment use, handle MOC documentation, and report mechanical issues. A great role for a practical leader who keeps things running safely and efficiently.

This is a permanent position on a roster of 8 days on, 6 days off. Various transport arrangements are available including:
- Daily Bus in Bus out (BIBO) from Cloncurry or Mount Isa.
- Fly in Fly out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
- Lead a consistent, efficient ROM team across all shifts, ensuring smooth handovers and a clean, ready work area while supporting team alignment and operational goals.
- Safely operate and monitor ROM equipment, reporting issues promptly.
- Support operator training and ensure accurate, timely documentation.
- Create, manage, and implement MOCs in line with site procedures.
- Champion safety protocols, hazard mitigation, and active participation in safety initiatives.
