Dugald River mine is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017.

The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine’s power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.

Dugald River employs around 800 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis.

Advisor - Talent Acquisition & HR

Reporting to the Manager – HR and Training, the Talent Acquisition & HR Advisor is responsible for managing the end-to-end recruitment activities including attracting and retaining top talent for MMG’s Dugald River Mine, while also providing day-to-day support across broader HR activities when required.

Bringing experience from a mining related industry or demonstrated success in managing high-volume recruitment across various role levels, you will possess strong talent management capabilities and attributes, including:

  • Solid understanding of the Australian job market and talent landscape, with proven ability to identify, engage, and attract top candidates.
  • Awareness of the broader HR value proposition and how recruitment supports overall people strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of the true end to end recruitment process.
  • Good understanding of recruitment-related legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with or supporting operational leaders to understand workforce needs and deliver fit-for-purpose recruitment solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.

This is a great career opportunity for a motivated Talent Acquisition Professional who is looking to expand their capabilities within a supportive team environment. 

This is a permanent position on four days on, 3 days off (4/3) roster with rosters split between working from home and working on site  For the onsite component various transport arrangements are available including:

  • Bus in Bus out (BIBO) from Cloncurry or Mount Isa.
  • Fly in Fly out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for blue- and white-collar roles, including reporting on hiring progress and pipeline status.
  • Provide recruitment support and labour market advice to hiring managers and the site HR team.
  • Develop and deliver recruitment strategies aligned with HR and business goals.
  • Review recruitment requests to ensure accurate role descriptions, remuneration, and classification levels.
  • Train hiring managers on recruitment processes, focusing on interview skills and compliance.
  • Support succession planning, particularly for critical and hard-to-fill roles.
  • Oversee probation reviews and partner with managers to evaluate new employee performance.
  • Conduct exit interviews and share feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, candidates, and external recruitment networks.

In addition to a competitive salary package, this role includes an annual bonus and generous local living allowances for employees residing in Cloncurry or Mount Isa.

On-site accommodation at Dugald River is provided in fully air-conditioned en-suite rooms, with all meals, room cleaning, and access to village facilities included.
