Rosebery is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in Tasmania, Australia. The mine is a deep, sub-level open stoping operation with complex mining conditions.

The Rosebery Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmania’s largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold doré.

It supports approximately 500 employees and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.

The mine has a strong future, with extensive exploration activities which have continued to grow the resource and require mine planning beyond 10 years of continued operation.

MMG Rosebery has an office in Burnie (Tasmania), giving employees the flexibility to work from there when they are not required onsite.

Mill Maintenance Planner

Reporting to the Superintendent - Reliability Planning, the Senior Planner is responsible for ensuring the development and communication of the plans and schedules in accordance with the MMG Process Framework. 

This role is offered on 5:2 / 4:3 roster and can be based at our Rosebery underground operation or our Burnie office.

Skills and Experience

  • Adherence to the MMG Process Framework; in particular A2D Processes and key focus areas of; 
  • Assist with the adoption of A2D processes 
  • Assist Planners to create, scope and plan maintenance work orders that enable effective utilisation of resources, including  personnel, contractors, materials and documentation to produce the rough cut plan and 12 week look ahead 
  • Delivery of all maintenance work plans and schedules 
  • Facilitate the weekly planning and scheduling meetings to ensure alignment and commitment of resources 
  • Review Subsequent Notification comments to ensure accurate data is collected in the field 
  • Liaise with work centre owners to ensure the work centre capacities are accurately updated in SAP 
  • Continuously improve Rosebery maintenance practices to enable effective maintenance performance 
  • Assist in the identification and development of corrective task lists for reoccurring work to support effective planning and safe execution 
  • Ensure quality and completeness of work management master data to support the planning and scheduling process 
  • Manage expenditure within budget levels and assist in the development of maintenance budgets 
  • Ensure development of the maintenance budget based on preventative and corrective maintenance work strategies in SAP 
  • Create, scope and plan maintenance work orders that enable effective utilisation of resources, including personnel, contractors, materials and documentation to produce the rough cut plan and 12 week look ahead 
  • Ensure all Work Orders flagged for rescheduling are considered for the next available schedule  
  • Utilising A2D KPI’s to identify improvement opportunities 
  • Communicate with on-site administration and ensure site entry obligations for any Contractors are met 
  • Work closely with Maintenance Supervisors and purchasing personnel 

About You:

  • Trade, trade equivalent or Engineering qualifications in the appropriate discipline from a recognised institution (desirable)
  • High level of computer literary
  • SAP in particular SAP PM and Master Data objects (desirable) 
  • High level prioritisation and effective communication skills 
  • Strong planning, organisational and time management skills
  • Common Maintenance practices and standards 
  • Understanding of business and financial principles 
  • An unwavering commitment to safe work practices with demonstrate safe behaviour at all times and comply with the site’s standards and procedures. 
  • A willingness to work collaboratively as a team and support the Company Values
  • A manual C Class driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a Police Clearance, Pre employment Medical and DAS.
