We are pleased to advise that we seek an Accountant – Financial & Statutory Reporting. Based in beijing office and reporting to Lead - External Reporting, the purpose of this job is to supports the Lead – Financial and Statutory Reporting with all financial and statutory reporting requirements across the MMG global group. These include compliance with Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKSE), Joint Venture obligations (e.g. Las Bambas JV), local in-country regulations and the requirements of MMG’s major shareholder China Minmetals Non-ferrous (CMN) including with the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC).
You'll handle:
Accurate and timely submission of all MMG’s financial and statutory reporting requirements: o HKSE: Annual and Interim Half-Year financial statements (and accompanying notes disclosures) for the MMG Group. o Las Bambas and KCM JV Groups: Monthly and Annual financial statements (and accompanying notes disclosures) for JV Boards. o Stand-alone Entity Annual financial statements (and accompanying notes disclosures) for approximately 20-25 entities across the MMG Group in Australia, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. o CMN & SASAC Reporting: Monthly, Quarterly and Annual reporting packs for all reportable segments. o Other special purpose financial reports – e.g. lender facility requirements and etc.
• Quality service delivery and responsiveness to CMN financial and statutory reporting requirements and related queries.
• Involve actively in improvement projects which support excellence and governance in financial processes.
• Assist across the Finance team proactively where possible, as required and directed by your line manager/supervisor.
To be considered, candidates must have
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP equivalents
• Statutory and regulatory requirements – e.g. HKSE listing rules, IFRIC
pronouncements, SASAC regulations
• ERP and other reporting systems – e.g. SAP, BPC, EPD, CMN System 97
• MMG Standards, Work Quality Requirements and Procedures
• Consolidations and Joint Venture financial reporting
• Strong technical accounting, numerical and analytical skills and ability to
synthesise data into information.
• Research on technical accounting and financial reporting issues.
• Effective communication and able to explain statutory and financial
reporting issues to “non-technical” people.
• Ability to develop rapport and build strong relationships with key internal
and external stakeholders.
• Strong project planning skills including effective scheduling and
stakeholder management.
• Thoroughness and strong attention to detail
• Ability to solve problems
• Advanced Excel spreadsheet and data/information presentation skills
• Language
o English, Mandarin (Chinese)
o Verbal and written business level proficiency in both English and
Chinese. Strong English skills will be looked upon favourably.
