We have an exciting opportunity for a Utilities Reliability and Maintenance Manager to join our Tullamarine team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you’ll lead the site’s Utilities and Syrup Room maintenance functions—managing steam, water, compressed air, CO₂, refrigeration, electricity, and waste systems to ensure optimal reliability and continuous operations.
This is a key leadership role where you'll champion proactive maintenance strategies, coach a high-performing team, and drive continuous improvement to support production excellence and plant sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the site’s Utilities and Syrup Room maintenance performance by overseeing:
- Safe and reliable operation of critical utilities including refrigeration, steam, compressed air, CO₂, water, and power.
- End-to-end maintenance strategies and shutdown plans across utilities and syrup-making infrastructure.
- Delivery of asset care plans and plant reliability targets, optimising both operational performance and maintenance spend.
- Team performance and development, ensuring high standards of safety, technical capability, and engagement.
- Effective contractor management, change control, and compliance with WHS, HSE, and EPA standards.
- Energy efficiency, water usage, and waste minimisation programs to support sustainability goals.
- Capital and OPEX budget development and management across the utilities function.
- Root cause analysis, visual management, and standard work to embed a culture of continuous improvement.
About You
This is a great opportunity for a proactive and technically capable leader to make a tangible impact across site operations. With a clear pathway for progression into senior leadership, this role is ideal for someone passionate about asset reliability and team excellence. You will bring:
- Post-trade or relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years experience in reliability engineering, utilities maintenance, and services operations (e.g., refrigeration, steam, CO₂).
- A proven track record of leading and developing high-performing maintenance teams.
- Strong understanding of process control, and Australian safety, environment, and quality legislation.
- Budgeting and project management experience within manufacturing environments.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on long-term strategy and operational excellence.
- Hazardous Area Training is highly regarded.
