Area Sales Manager – West Coast (32 hours per week)


Your Impact


As the Area Sales Manager – West Coast, you will be the local face of Asahi Beverages across Grocery, Licensed Venues, and Route channels, representing our total portfolio of alcoholic and non-alcoholic brands. In this diverse, field-based role, you’ll manage customer relationships, deliver commercial execution, and drive brand presence across your region. Covering a broad customer base, your focus will be on delivering volume, distribution, and promotional compliance across all channels, making a real impact in one of New Zealand’s most unique regions.

This is a part-time (32-hour per week) position offering flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to work across a broad customer landscape. Regular travel throughout the West Coast region is required to support in-market execution and customer engagement.

We are looking for a super star that has a success driven attitude but is looking for a work/lifestyle balance.  These hours are negotiable for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a customer base spanning Grocery, Route, and Licensed Venues to deliver sales, distribution, and brand presence across our total beverage portfolio.
  • Execute customer, trade, and shopper strategies that align with national channel plans and local opportunities.
  • Develop strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing customers through tailored commercial solutions.
  • Implement promotional activities and ensure full compliance with pricing, merchandising, and product visibility standards.
  • Identify and act on new business opportunities through market insights, competitor activity, and customer feedback.
  • Deliver best-in-class service, product education, and support across all accounts.
  • Maintain accurate call records, customer data, and territory plans via CRM tools.
  • Champion our brands through in-store activations, events, and tastings, ensuring standout execution and consumer engagement.

About You


You’re a results-driven and adaptable sales professional with the ability to work across varied customer types. You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in FMCG, liquor, or hospitality sales—ideally across multiple channels such as Grocery, Route, or On-Premise.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering results.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across a diverse customer base.
  • Confidence to work independently, manage your time effectively, and stay aligned with team goals.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and passion for customer service.
  • A full driver’s licence and flexibility to travel regularly throughout the West Coast region.
