We're looking for an Area Sales Manager to join our Alcohol NZ business, managing a well-established territory across Auckland's Traditional Liquor channel. Working with a portfolio of independent liquor retailers and key liquor chains, you'll play a critical role in driving volume, distribution and execution across some of New Zealand's most recognised beverage brands.

This is a highly autonomous field-based role where you'll manage your own territory, build long-term partnerships with business owners, identify growth opportunities and execute commercial strategies that deliver results for both Asahi Beverages and our customers.

Whether you're already working in FMCG sales, beverage sales or looking to take the next step in your commercial career, this is an opportunity to join an industry leader with genuine development opportunities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage a large portfolio of Traditional Liquor customers across the central Auckland territory.
  • Build strong relationships with independent business owners and key decision-makers.
  • Drive distribution, volume growth and execution across Asahi's portfolio of leading brands.
  • Negotiate ranging, pricing, promotions, displays and in-store activation opportunities.
  • Identify new business opportunities and proactively grow market share within your territory.
  • Execute customer, trade and promotional strategies to deliver commercial outcomes.
  • Maintain structured territory planning and call cycles through Salesforce CRM.
  • Analyse customer performance and identify opportunities to improve results.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Sales, Marketing and Commercial teams.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while representing Asahi Beverages in market.

About You

We're open to a range of FMCG sales backgrounds, but you'll bring strong commercial acumen, relationship-building skills and a passion for delivering results.

You will have experience in:

  • Strong experience in FMCG field sales
  • Beverage or liquor sales highly preferred
  • Territory management
  • Account management
  • Retail sales leadership
  • Customer-facing commercial roles

To be successful, you'll demonstrate:

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to influence and build credibility with business owners.
  • Excellent planning, organisation and territory management capability.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach.
  • Commercial curiosity and a growth mindset.
  • Confidence working autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using CRM systems and managing customer pipelines is highly regarded.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is coachable, driven and excited about building a long-term career within Asahi Beverages.

Why Join Us?

  • Manage a high-profile central Auckland territory.
  • Work with some of New Zealand's most recognised beverage brands.
  • Join a collaborative and high-performing sales team.
