Your Impact

As Brewing Engineer, for an 8-month secondment, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the brewing equipment at our Abbotsford Brewery.
Combining technical expertise with people leadership, you’ll coordinate maintenance activities, coach our maintenance team and trade specialists, and provide technical advice to improve equipment availability. Safety will be central to how you operate. You’ll bring a strong understanding of engineering and maintenance safety requirements and take a considered, methodical approach to identifying risks, solving problems and delivering sustainable improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply strong technical safety knowledge across areas including pressure vessels, hazardous areas and hazardous chemicals.
  • Coordinate planned maintenance activities and support the development of effective maintenance plans.
  • Lead, coach and develop the Maintenance Planner and trade specialists, building capability and encouraging strong team performance.

  • Work closely with Brewing, Engineering, Packaging and Asset Management stakeholders to continuously improve equipment reliability and maintenance practices.

About You

You’re technically curious, safety focused and methodical in the way you work. You enjoy understanding how equipment and processes operate, working through problems logically and bringing people together to find better solutions.

Just as importantly, you’re a supportive leader who enjoys developing others. You don’t need to know everything from day one. You’ll bring strong technical foundations, curiosity and a genuine willingness to learn and continue building your brewing and engineering knowledge.

  • Engineering or maintenance experience within FMCG, manufacturing or another large process environment.
  • Strong technical understanding and a practical approach to engineering safety and risk management.
  • Leadership capability, with the confidence to coach, engage and support maintenance and trade teams.
  • A structured, analytical and methodical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • An eagerness to learn, challenge existing thinking and continuously improve.
  • Brewing process knowledge, SAP PM experience and/or trade experience would be advantageous
