We’re looking for a people-focused Packaging Team Leader to lead our packaging operations at our Cascade Brewery in Hobart, TAS.

In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll lead the day-to-day operation of the packaging team, coordinate people and resources, and ensure production runs safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. You’ll play an important role in delivering production requirements while driving performance, reliability and continuous improvement across the operation.

You’ll maintain a visible presence across the floor, support your team to perform at their best and collaborate closely with stakeholders across brewing, planning, maintenance and other support functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the packaging team
• Translate production requirements into clear priorities for the team and coordinate people and resources accordingly
• Monitor performance and proactively address production issues to support reliability, productivity and output
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, hygiene and compliance, including GMP and HACCP requirements
• Provide clear direction, coaching and development to team members
• Support a high-performing and engaged team, promoting accountability and addressing workplace matters constructively
• Work closely with maintenance teams to coordinate planned and breakdown maintenance activities
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve performance, minimise waste and strengthen operational processes
• Ensure effective communication across the operation when changes may impact production or other teams
• Support effective equipment changeovers, cleaning and day-to-day operational routines

About You

You’re a people-focused leader who can provide clear direction, build strong relationships and navigate the challenges of a busy production environment.

You’ll bring:

• People leadership experience, ideally within manufacturing, FMCG, food and beverage or a similar operational environment
• An understanding of production equipment and processes, with packaging experience advantageous
• Strong planning, organisation and problem-solving skills
• Confidence managing performance, promoting accountability and addressing challenges proactively
• Resilience and adaptability when navigating change and competing priorities
• Confidence using Excel and other computer systems
• A relevant technical or engineering qualification would be beneficial but not essential
