Your Impact

We’re on the lookout for a proactive Maintenance Controller & Planner to join our team at the Cascade Brewery in Hobart.

In this role, you’ll be at the heart of keeping operations running safely and smoothly by planning and coordinating maintenance across brewing, packaging, and utilities. You’ll be on the floor with the team, supporting in real time, solving problems, and making sure we stay on track with our maintenance program and budgets.

This isn’t your average site; Cascade’s large and diverse estate means unexpected challenges can pop up, from unplanned breakdowns to left-field site issues (think: fallen trees, unique infrastructure, historic assets). That’s why we’re looking for someone who can think fast, stay calm under pressure, and plan with purpose.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and schedule preventative and corrective maintenance, shutdowns and small projects
  • Coordinate parts, permits (e.g., confined space, hot work), and contractor support
  • Lead daily toolbox meetings, review work progress and adjust plans as needed
  • Manage work requests, maintenance tags and ensure accurate asset care reporting
  • Be the key liaison between trades, contractors, and broader site stakeholders
  • Provide hands-on supervision to ensure quality, safety and timely execution
  • Champion team engagement, continuous improvement, and ownership mindset
  • Maintain and update CMMS data (SAP PM or similar), driving best practice

About You

  • Proven experience in a maintenance planning or coordination role (manufacturing, FMCG or similar)
  • Strong, visible leadership style to empower and motivate trades teams
  • Hands-on mindset and confidence working closely with the team on the floor
  • Clear communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to stay composed, solve problems quickly and prioritise under pressure
  • Proficiency with CMMS (e.g., SAP PM) and general computer systems (MS Office etc.)
  • Safety-first approach in all aspects of work
