Bring your mechanical or electrical trade background into a hands-on Reliability Technical Specialist role with Asahi Beverages in Wulkuraka. Working alongside our fitters, electricians and operators, you’ll focus on improving equipment reliability, reducing breakdowns, and lifting machine efficiency across packaging lines.

This role is ideal for a tradesperson ready to step up from the tools into a role that drives improvement while staying close to the action on the factory floor.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of assigned machine groups, driving reliability and performance improvements.
  • Lead and support preventative maintenance planning, including reviewing PMs, work instructions, and SOPs.
  • Identify and implement Machine Efficiency (ME) and Unplanned Failure Event (UFE) improvement opportunities.
  • Analyse maintenance and breakdown data to plan corrective actions and reliability projects.
  • Support shutdown and long-term maintenance planning with the Maintenance Planner and Supervisors.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for troubleshooting complex breakdowns.
  • Develop and deliver technical and operator training, including coaching on safe work and autonomous maintenance practices.
  • Support new product implementation and capex projects, ensuring SOPs and schematics are updated.
  • Maintain compliance with EHS standards, conducting risk assessments and area audits as required.
  • Collaborate with planners, supervisors, and other SMEs to share learnings and standardise best practice.

 

About You

  • Qualified Mechanical, Electrical or Dual Trade
  • Experience in manufacturing or packaging maintenance, ideally in an FMCG or similar environment.
  • Skilled in fault finding, preventative maintenance, and equipment reliability.
  • Hands-on problem solver who enjoys improving how machines and people work together.
  • Confident communicator who can coach operators and technicians across shifts.
  • Safety-first mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and fixing issues early.
  • Comfortable using or learning maintenance systems (SAP or other CMMS).
