The Position
Build a pipeline of income for World Vision from both large and small trusts and foundations. This role aims to achieve financial and non-financial targets by building and maintaining strong relationships with trusts and foundations of all sizes, securing a pipeline of income from single and multi-year grants. The role encompasses all stages of qualifying leads, cultivating and developing strategic relationships, writing, submitting and acquitting grant applications and proposals and necessary reporting.
You’ll be part of the Philanthropic Partnerships team within the Private Funding group, working collaboratively across the organisation to align funding opportunities with World Vision’s strategic priorities. Responsibilities:
- Represent World Vision at networking functions to secure new income opportunities

Participate in events to raise awareness of World Vision projects and funding needs

Research and identify philanthropic grant opportunities aligned with World Vision’s purpose, mission, and values

Identify philanthropic grant funding networks and advise on targeted strategies for renewal and growth of grant income

Draft high-quality, targeted, and compelling grant applications and proposals that effectively match grant-makers’ interests with World Vision’s programs

Draft high-quality narrative reports for project reports and grant acquittals
- Employ creative and effective relationship-building and networking skills to inspire prospects to support the organization's work
- Proactively build and maintain relationships with philanthropic grant makers, including key decision-makers and administrative staff
- Ensure World Vision’s trusts and foundations partners feel valued, connected, and supported through communication, reporting, and overarching relationship development
- Utilize systems and processes to accurately track grant opportunities, applications, and successful funding relationships
Who we are looking for
Strong organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to manage complex details and multiple projects, priorities, and relationships simultaneously. Authentic stewardship of World Vision’s granting partners is paramount.
You will also have:
- Mid level experience managing trusts and foundations or administering grants from trusts and foundations
- Exceptional grant and proposal writing skills
- Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills
- Proven success securing significant gifts from high net-worth individuals or trusts and foundations
- Strong donor-centric approach and experience in developing and implementing donor/funder engagement plans
- Ability to work in a cross-functional structure
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM systems, including data analysis and reporting
- Strategic thinker with a track record of exceeding income targets
- Deep understanding of the not-for-profit and international development sectors
- Aligned with World Vision Australia’s values and authentically able to steward their granting partners
- Degree qualifications or equivalent industry experience
