The position

This dynamic role leads the development and execution of innovative strategies and campaigns to expand, engage, and retain World Vision Australia’s Gifts in Wills (GIW) supporter base. It aims to inspire loyalty and deepen long-term connections with supporters.

The role is responsible for delivering donor-centric mass marketing and lead-generation campaigns (DM, digital, telemarketing, eDM) to increase the visibility and impact of the Gifts in Wills program among internal and external stakeholders, including staff, supporters, donors, the broader community and third-party collaborators.

This position drives the acquisition of new GIW supporters and manages GIW communications to strengthen donor relationships and retain donor loyalty, ensuring the implementation of industry best practices.

Your responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the successful execution of the GIW strategy by planning and coordinating communications and activities that enhance program development and optimise future bequest income to support World Vision’s priorities
  • Build and sustain a portfolio of current GIW donors while developing a robust pipeline of prospective donors actively engaged with WVA
  • Oversee and monitor acquisition and retention initiatives for GIW donors to ensure program success
  • Implement customised strategies to cultivate and solicit GIW prospects, including phone calls, letters, meetings, visits, and other touchpoints. Employ moves management strategies to convert prospects into confirmed donors
  • Foster loyalty among GIW supporters through a personalised and structured stewardship program, and implementation of a WVA GIW Society, ensuring ongoing engagement and retention
  • Partner with the CRSX, Private Funding, and Middle Donor teams to ensure coordinated relationship management for mass, major, and mid-level donors with ties to the GIW program
  • Ensure the GIW donor database is accurately maintained and regularly updated, safeguarding the program's long-term integrity and reliability
  • Contribute ideas, gather inspirational donor stories and testimonials, and assist in the development of newsletters, impact reports, collateral, and website content to engage and inspire supporters
  • Provide support for the management of the legal administration and distribution of estates

Who we’re looking for 

We are looking for someone with outstanding interpersonal abilities, demonstrated expertise in professional relationship management and a proven ability to build and maintain strong connections.

You will have:

  • Strong understanding of mass marketing principles (e.g., direct mail, digital, eDMs, telemarketing) and relationship fundraising at scale
  • Prior experience in a Gifts in Wills fundraising role (Desirable)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and working with stakeholders to deliver projects to meet deadlines and targets
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, MS Dynamics, or other CRM platforms
  • Membership with the FIA or a strong understanding of the FIA Code and Standards (Preferred)
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a related field such as Fundraising, Communications, or Marketing is desirable
