The position
In this role, you will oversee the complete administration and distribution process for estate gifts - from notification to realisation and acquittal. By fostering strong relationships with legal and financial advisors, you will help grow charitable bequests and build a sustainable pipeline of Gifts in Wills (GIW) supporters.
Representing both the donor and WVA, you will bring expert knowledge in Wills and estate administration, providing guidance on all estate gifts.

Your responsibilities:
- Foster and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders involved in the legal administration of estates, including solicitors, executors, senior legal counsel, and finance teams, to ensure the protection and maximisation of gifts in Wills
- Ensure 100% realisation of all notified estate gifts and ensure they are distributed in accordance with the donor’s intentions
- Develop respectful and compassionate relationships with the next of kin, family members, and executors of GIW donors.
- Maintain and grow a national network of solicitors who actively support WVA’s Gifts in Wills program
- Ensure accurate record-keeping for all active and completed bequests/legacies, including donor insights to inform acquisition and loyalty strategies within relevant CRM systems. Maintain a comprehensive Masterfile of deceased estates
- Create and maintain a variety of estate-related communications, including letter templates, newsletters, impact reports, sympathy cards, estate acquittals, and reports for family members and executors
- Work closely with the Marketing and GIW team to ensure all GIW collateral, advertisements, and stories remain current and impactful
Who we’re looking for
We are looking for someone with well-developed relationship management skills who is empathetic and has a high degree of maturity, discretion, and professionalism.
You will have:
- Previous experience in estate administration within a Gifts in Wills role (desirable)
- In-depth understanding of legal matters and legislative requirements related to bequests and estate management, gained through experience in managing deceased estates
- Proven experience in analytical work, financial engagement, and reporting
- Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM platforms (essential)
- High degree of accountability, self-motivation and initiative
- Solid understanding and experience with relationship management methodologies and practices
- Membership with the FIA or a strong understanding of the FIA Code and Standards
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, or equivalent experience in Legal or Wills and Estate Administration
