The Position

Responsible for driving fundraising revenue, growth and engagement across World Vision Australia’s (WVA) core giving categories for the Mass market, with a primary focus on Child Sponsorship and other giving channels.

You will drive supporter acquisition, growth & retention across all segments in line with World Visions strategy and will oversee the strategic development, execution, and performance of marketing initiatives and campaigns designed to grow fundraising revenue, inspire donor engagement and achieve category goals.

The role also requires a strong focus on supporting tactical fundraising campaigns and activations across all channels, with a priority on growing the footprint and supporter engagement for Child Sponsorship acquisitions and supporting, retail, church, school, and community engagement channel initiatives. This includes ownership of iconic campaigns such as 40 Hour Famine and other key fundraising and awareness programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute the end-to-end marketing strategy for the Child Sponsorship category and other giving products to drive sustainable growth
  • Design and oversee the end-to-end strategy for campaigns such as 40 Hour Famine, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and increase opportunities to diversify giving channels and increase donor lifetime value
  • Lead category performance reviews, reporting on KPIs, market trends, and audience insights to drive data-informed decision-making
  • Collaborate with the Insights & Analytics team to identify the opportunities which exist within the supporter base to deepen supporter relationships, improve supporter metrics (average donation value, churn, active base), revenue and deliver in line with field commitments
  • Oversee the development and delivery of an overarching supporter treatment strategy for all segments and work to integrate the strategy through the Go To Market teams
  • Design and implement integrated marketing campaigns to grow donor acquisition, retention, and reactivation across all channels
  • Develop and oversee tactical campaigns and activations that support footprint growth across Australia, particularly for Child Sponsorship acquisitions
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing marketing team, fostering collaboration and a results-driven culture
  • Build capability within the team to execute innovative and cutting-edge marketing initiatives
  • Partner with external agencies, mailhouse corporate sponsors, and community organizations to amplify campaign reach and effectiveness

Who we’re looking for 

We are looking for someone with 10+ years of proven experience in a senior marketing role with ownership of category management, ideally within a not-for-profit or purpose-driven organization.

You will have:

  • A strong track record of growing revenue through successful campaign delivery, category management and retail activations
  • Demonstrated expertise in donor acquisition, retention, and multi-channel marketing
  • Experience in developing and implementing community engagement strategies across retail, churches, schools and other local organizations
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and grow a high performing team
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to track and optimize category performance
  • Familiarity with the humanitarian or child-focused development sector (Preferred)
  • Advanced knowledge of digital marketing, CRM, and data-driven fundraising approaches
  • Communications, Marketing and/or Business Degree
