Chief of Programs and Contracts
You turn generosity into global impact.
At World Vision Australia, we’re not just raising funds — we’re restoring ecosystems, responding to disasters, partnering with communities and giving millions of children a better tomorrow. And we’re doing it with scale, speed, and bold ambition.
As our Chief of Programs and Contracts, you’ll build on the courageous generosity of Australians and turn it into measurable global change. You’ll oversee $150 million in grants, lead emergency responses, and scale pioneering solutions like FMNR and our Australia First Nations Program — transforming 10 million hectares and reaching 5 million children.
This isn’t a role for the cautious - It’s for a visionary builder.
Someone who:
- Wins big grants, keeps bold promises
- Translates mission into metrics and momentum
- Leads with trust, resilience, and courage
- Builds teams that change lives
You’ll bring:
- Deep personal values that are aligned with our own
- The capacity to lead large, multicultural teams through change and growth
- Proven impact in international development or humanitarian leadership
- Boardroom fluency and field credibility — from funding rounds to refugee camps
You’ll be at the beating heart of WVA’s ambition to be Australia’s most trusted charity, and a global force for good.

The selection process
We embrace diversity, employing people from a variety of cultural and religious backgrounds. We take our Safeguarding responsibilities seriously and we are committed to providing an environment that is safe for children. Our stringent recruitment procedures make sure the safest and most suitable people work with the children in our programs. All successful candidates will undergo all required pre-employment checks which is inclusive of a criminal record check. We provide our staff and volunteers with ongoing supervision, support, and training in their work with vulnerable children and their families. World Vision Australia participates in the Inter-Agency Scheme for the Disclosure of Safeguarding-related Misconduct in Recruitment Process within the Humanitarian and Development Sector.
