Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network (BHFLHN) encompasses 40% of the population of country South Australia, including the Barossa, Gawler district, Adelaide Hills, Southern Fleurieu and Kangaroo Island.

The region is an area of significant population growth for South Australia. Our sites and services are located at Mt Barker, Gawler, Victor Harbor (Southern Fleurieu), Strathalbyn, Kingscote, Mt Pleasant, Angaston, Tanunda, Gumeracha, Eudunda and Kapunda. The LHN has 11 public hospitals, 6 aged care facilities and an extensive range of community-based services.

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Sterilisation Technicians to join the Central Staffing Casual Pool at the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network and work in one or more of our diverse health units located in:

  • Mount Barker
  • Gawler
  • Victor Harbor
  • Kangaroo Island
  • Kapunda
  • Angaston

About you:

The CSSD Technician contributes to the effective delivery of sterilisation services by processing surgical instruments according to the AS/NZS 4187. You will thrive working collaboratively within an inter-disciplinary team to partner with consumers, displaying our values of Trust, Respect, Integrity, Collaboration and Kindness.  BHFLHN are proud of our Aboriginal Health Directorate that provides services and engagement to First Nations Communities and connects our First Nations Workforce Network.  Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to join BHFLHN as a valued, supported, and respected member of the team.

Employees at this level will undertake sterilising duties within CSSD will need to have completed an AQF Certificate III in Sterilising Services, and have demonstrated experience in a perioperative and CSSD department. Along with recent experience working within a sterilising department, you will have sound knowledge of a range of instruments, sterilising methods and infection control principles. With the ability to meet deadlines and organise workloads effectively, you will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate to people from different cultures, backgrounds and circumstances.
