About the Role

As an Audit Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality and accuracy of clinical coding and documentation across CALHN. Reporting directly to the Audit Manager, you will coordinate and direct Clinical Coding and Documentation Improvement Audits, ensuring that best practices are implemented through effective planning, follow-up, and the development of educational strategies. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide expert advice, ensuring accurate code assignment and optimised DRG allocation in line with Australian and South Australian coding standards. You will be supporting the Manager, Clinical Coding Services and coordinating the clinical coding teams to ensure cohesive and efficient audits whilst ensuring best practice by overseeing functions of clinical coding.

In addition, you will be responsible for managing and updating the CALHN Audit Plan, ensuring audit requirements are prioritised efficiently. Your expertise will guide the use of clinical language to accurately reflect service acuity, supporting data analysis for reporting and clinical service planning. You will also assist the Audit Manager in achieving service outcomes, overseeing administrative functions and managing staff to ensure the smooth delivery of work. About You

We’re seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audit Coordinator with a strong background in Health Information Management and Clinical Coding. If you have a passion for driving quality improvement and ensuring accurate data collection, this could be the ideal role for you.

  • Degree in Health Information Management or related field, HIMAA membership eligible.
  • Extensive experience in clinical coding audits and knowledge of ICD-10-AM.
  • Proven ability to lead change, engage with teams, and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of casemix, DRGs, and activity-based funding in a hospital setting.
