The Role
The Regional Senior Podiatrist is an experienced and highly competent clinician who delivers quality services and/or provides clinical/professional leadership to allied health professionals working in Flinders Upper North Regional Health Service/rural and remote areas of South Australia. Responsible for contributing to improvements in the quality, safety and community needs-driven distribution of services FUNLHN, the Regional Senior Podiatrist works with allied health staff, managers and other stakeholders on model of care and workforce development initiatives.
This vacancy is currently a full-time position however consideration will be given to part-time contract availability and hours of work will be by negotiation and salary will be adjusted according to hours worked.
Eligibility
Must hold a recognised qualification within the Podiatry Profession and be eligible for (full) membership of the relevant Allied Health Profession. For those professions requiring Registration all requirements to obtain and maintain current registration must be fulfilled. For self-regulated professions it is desirable to participate in the professional associations accredited continuing professional development program.
Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements.

Our Allied Health workforce
Whyalla Hospital and Health Service and Port Augusta and Regional Health Service are both modern, comprehensive health units. Whyalla provides a wide range of services utilising local general practitioners, resident specialists, visiting specialists and telemedicine for people in the surrounding areas. Our hospital has a combination of acute care beds, palliative care beds, day surgery beds and recliner beds used for procedures such as elective day surgery, endoscopy or general chemotherapy.
The Port Augusta Hospital and Regional Health Service provides emergency services, general medical and surgical care and community services. We also provide specific facilities and staff for Aboriginal patients. Port Augusta Hospital offers a full surgery service with general surgery and day surgery, and we also provide five monitored beds, outpatient services, palliative care, rehabilitation and renal dialysis.
Living in Whyalla offers great weather with 300 days of sunshine a year, great beaches, and a huge variety of sports and outdoor activities to suit everyone.
