WCHN Social Work Services assist women and children consumers of the hospital, and their relatives, understand and manage their health condition and/or the social issues impacting upon their wellbeing.

About the Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Social Work Services team as a Social Worker (AHP2) on an 12-month contract, working in a full-time capacity.

As the WCHN Social Worker, you will;

  • Provide professional Social Work Services to children, adolescents and their families.
  • Work in collaboration with other health professionals to achieve optimal client outcomes.
  • Provide effective and efficient psychosocial assessment, counselling and the implementation of therapeutic intervention plans.
  • Actively participate in working parties/committees representing the social work department and advocating for client/family needs.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
  • Flexibility and ability to work in an environment of change.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide written psychosocial assessment and social work interventions with individuals, families and groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide culturally competent social work practice.
