iCCnet is seeking experienced scientists passionate about improving health outcomes for patients living in regional South Australia for casual employment.

Please note that this position is multi-classified as either a MES1 or MES2.

Overview

The Integrated Cardiovascular Clinical Network (iCCnet) delivers personalised care to people living in country South Australia and has a primary aim of achieving better cardiovascular health outcomes. This is achieved by supporting patients experiencing unexpected deterioration of a medical condition to avoid hospitalisation, assisting with early diagnosis and management of chronic conditions, and facilitating self-management of chronic conditions through supported virtual home monitoring. Medical Scientist roles are required by iCCnet across various Point of Care Testing (POCT) initiatives, including providing POCT pathology across regional hospitals and virtual patient monitoring platforms. In this capacity, you will assist with providing remote health monitoring services which are fully integrated into the clinical setting through education, training, and technical support. You will participate in the after-hours on-call technical support roster and contribute to the continuous quality improvement of the services provided by the unit. Some travel may be required.

You will need to hold a Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science or an equivalent qualification, and have broad experience in performing routine diagnostic tests. You will have clinical knowledge in at least one of the following areas - Cardiology, Diabetes, Stroke, Renal or Respiratory - and be proficient with computerised healthcare information systems. Effective communication skills will be essential, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills, with all levels of stakeholders including medical and scientific personnel and patients. Self-motivated and able to show empathy when interacting with patients, you will demonstrate a commitment to providing client and family-centred care.
