About the role

The CALHN Heart & Lung program – Cardiology Service, provides nursing services within current nursing models of care focussing on patient centred acute inpatient services both life-threatening or potentially life-threatening conditions  - emergency and elective; i

4Ew1 is a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit with 6 beds being 1:1 nurse:patient ratio and the remaining 10 beds 1:3 or 1:4 depending on patient care needs. RN’s are encouraged to have Advanced Life Support Skills.

Registered Nurses commencing in CCU will be supported with an individualised learning/training program supported by senior CCU nurses and cardiac nurse specialists. An 11week (2 hours/wk ) Cardiac Rhythms course is provided followed by a High Acuity course led by our Heart and Lung educators over 20 weeks.

Qualifications

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
