Theatre Orderly

The Theatre Orderly is responsible for a high standard of work, providing a timely efficient and effective theatre orderly service and undertaking duties in a range of activity areas as described in this role description. The Theatre Orderly may be required to work within a number of areas of the Health Service.

Assist medical and nursing staff in performing a full range of duties both inside and outside the Operating Theatre area including:

  • transportation and position of patients
  • set, collection and delivery of theatre equipment
  • setting up of Monitor equipment e.g diathermy's, lights
  • Maintenance, cleaning, and safety checking of theatre equipment
  • Assist application of, and removal of plasters and traction techniques

Employees at this level will undertake Theatre Orderly duties and have completed an AQF Certificate III relevant to the employee’s position.
