About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Prostate Cancer Nurse Consultant within the Division of Surgical Specialties and Anaesthetics.

As a Nurse Consultant you will be responsible for supporting a culture of learning within our service, ensuring our nursing and multidisciplinary teams are able to deliver the highest standard of care in line with state wide and national standards. As an experienced nurse, it is expected that you will provide clinical leadership at the point of care through sound clinical judgement and decision making on matters such as clinical assessment, and the provision of care and treatment. The Nurse Consultant position is considered to be an expert and knowledgeable resource in the specialty of prostate cancer. In this role you will also be expected to have a key role in change management, and have a good, if not expert, understanding of quality improvement methodology, and how this is applied to practice as a service through clinical governance.  

In this role you will accept accountability for your nursing practice, the outcomes of nursing practices for the specific patient/client group, the professional advice given, delegations of care made and for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy.

To be eligible for this position, you must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold, or be eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
