ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Provide professional high-quality nursing within the Millicent and Districts Hospital and Health Service.
  • Work across acute, emergency and day surgery/theatre to extend and expand your scope of practice in a vibrant rural setting.
  • Provide care to your patients from the front door through to discharge, developing strong therapeutic relationships that engender greater holistic care and job satisfaction.
  • Bring and grow in your skill set by providing support and guidance to a broad range of nursing staff from the novice to experienced staff, supported by a team of Nurse Educators and Clinical Facilitators.
  • Access continuous professional development and experience and maintain cooperative and productive working relationships with all members of the health care team
  • Become an important member of the local community by contributing to improving their health and wellbeing.

ABOUT YOU

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
  • Effective communication skills, including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and prioritise workloads.
  • Creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a healthcare setting
  • Previous Acute / Emergency experience desired (but not essential)
  • Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and appropriate immunisation requirements.

 

ABOUT US

Millicent and District Hospital and Health Service is part of the Limestone Coast Local Health Network and employs over 140 staff across the site to provide the community with access to acute and aged care services which includes but is not limited to:

  • Inpatient admissions including paediatric, medical, step down and mental health.
  • Outpatient care including infusion and transfusion services
  • Surgical services-including day surgery and overnight as required. Surgical specialities offered include general surgery, orthopaedics, endoscopy and gastroscopy, oral and maxillofacial, breast and endocrine, dental and minor procedures.
  • A 24-hour, seven day a week Accident and Emergency Department.
  • 60 bed residential aged care facility co-located
  • Domiciliary midwife program
  • Co-located Community Health Service
