About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as a Registered Nurse/Clinical Nurse within the Forensic Mental Health Services. The Forensic mental health service is a state-wide specialist service which provides assessment, treatment and care service to meet the needs of mental health consumers in the justice system. Working in inpatient services located at James Nash House (Oakden) and Tarnanthi (Glenside campus), you will care for forensic consumers placed in care by the SA Health court system or from the department of correctional services providing acute and rehabilitation nursing services.

This position will offer you professional growth opportunities within a supportive and inclusive culture. In this key position you will demonstrate your experience and previous success working as a Registered Mental Health Nurse to ensure high quality care is delivered to our consumers.

Provide nursing and/or midwifery services in a variety of health service settings which has been consolidated by experience and/or further study with staff at this level developing from competent to proficient practitioners. Accepts accountability for their own practice standards, activities delegated to others and the guidance and development of less experienced staff. The Clinical Nurse role at this level continues to be predominantly clinical in nature; however, employees are assigned appropriate portfolios. The allocation of portfolio responsibilities should be negotiated with each employee and be consistent with the career development plan for the employee as determined by their performance review/development plan.

To be eligible for this position, you must have:

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Educational/Vocational Qualifications:

  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
  • Enrolled in an approved Mental Health course or holds a qualification in mental health practice.
