Opportunity to lead a nursing team within the largest perioperative service outside metropolitan Adelaide

 

Use your clinical knowledge and experience to provide the pivotal co-ordination of patient care delivery in the Theatre Department at Mount Gambier & Districts Health Service. The main focus of this role is the line management, coordination and leadership of nursing/midwifery and/or multi-disciplinary team activities to achieve continuity and quality of patient care and outcomes.

About you

  • You must be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
  • At least 3 years post registration experience 
  • With prior experience in management and leadership roles, you will be capable of giving supervision to student nurses, enrolled nurses and less experienced registered nurses.
  • Use your effective communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills to maintain a cohesive multidisciplinary team and resolve local or immediate nursing care problems.
  • Knowledge of Quality Improvement Systems as applied to a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in the use of computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Applicants with experience in the financial, asset and human resources management in Emergency Department setting or relevant critical care setting will be highly regarded
