An exciting opportunity is presented to work as Advanced Nurse Unit Manager within the Northern Adelaide Geriatrics Service, Division of Aged Care, Rehabilitation and Palliative Care, NALHN. The Northern Adelaide Geriatric Service is made up of dynamic multidisciplinary teams who work collaboratively to achieve a shared goal- optimising care for Older People in the environment most suitable for them. Services are committed to providing best practice care that supports consumer choice and celebrates individuality in ageing. Our teams deliver innovative, holistic, person-centred care to a diverse group of Geriatric clients. Employees classified at this level use their clinical knowledge and experience to provide the pivotal coordination of specialised Geriatric care delivery across multiple services including Geriatrics in the Home, Community GEM, Geriatric Outpatients, Care Awaiting Placement and the Northern Reablement and Intermediate Care to Return Home Service. The main focus of this role is the direct and indirect line management, coordination and leadership of the nursing and multidisciplinary team activities.
Employees in this role accept accountability for the outcomes of nursing practices and multidisciplinary outcomes in the specific practice setting of Geriatrics, for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy; and for developing team performance within positive work cultures in the interest of consumer outcomes. Leading, managing, overseeing and advising on nursing care and health service delivery for the defined service delivery areas is the main function of the role.

Educational/Vocational Qualifications
> Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and who holds, or who is eligible to hold, a current practicing certificate.
