Overview

We are looking for dedicated Registered Nurses and Midwives to join the Registered Nurse/Midwife Casual Pool, where you will provide evidence based person centred nursing and/or midwifery services at Port Lincoln Hospital. 

Duties include assessing individual patient/client needs, planning, implementing and/or coordinating appropriate service delivery from a range of accepted options including other disciplines or agencies, provide health promotion and education to patients/clients or groups and carers to improve the health outcomes of individuals, contribute to procedures for effectively dealing with people exhibiting challenging behaviours and use foundation theoretical knowledge and evidenced based guidelines to achieve positive patient/client care outcomes.

About You

  • You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife or Midwife by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate.
  • Demonstrating sound knowledge and an understanding of the role of the Registered Nurse/Midwife within a health care setting, you will bring the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • You will be creative, innovative and flexible when approaching issues within a health care setting, displaying a commitment to providing consumer and family-centred care.
  • Strong communication skills including problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Experience in the use of computer packages eg Microsoft Word, Excel
