About the Role:

An exciting opportunity is presented to work within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network as the Manager Medical Record Service within the Health Information Management Services.

The Manager, Medical Record Service is accountable to the Director, Health Information Management Service (HIMS) for the overall operational and strategic management of the NALHN Medical Record Service which includes paper-based and electronic patient records across the Lyell McEwin and Modbury hospitals.

The Manager, Medical Record Service is responsible for the provision of a high-level medical record service across NALHN that includes:

  • Medical record management
  • Centralised scanning centre
  • Release of patient information
  • Consultancy service to staff and management

Educational/Vocational Qualifications:

  • Nil

Personal Abilities/Aptitudes/Skills:

  • Ability to cope with high volumes of work, to perform effectively under pressure, to set and determine priorities and meet deadlines within broad guidelines.
  • Demonstrated high level verbal, written and interpersonal skills including presentation and negotiation skills at all levels within an organisation and with external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to analyse, plan, organise and manage significant change management projects with successful outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with broad direction and exercise a high level of independent judgement and decision making.
  • An ability to manage in accordance with the legislative requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (SA), utilising AS/NZS ISO 31000:2009 Risk Management- Principles and Guidelines, or to an equivalent set of standards
