  • Multiple Positions: Perm F/T & P/T (part time hours to be negotiated), working over a 7 day roster

 

Please note that this position is multi-classified as either a RN/M1 or RN/M2C.

 

Overview

Exciting and challenging roles are available for self-motivated and professional nurses looking to step up to the next level and join a strong and supportive Emergency Department. As part of the multidisciplinary team at the Mount Gambier and Districts Health Service, you will ensure the delivery of high quality care to patients presenting to the Emergency Department. It is expected that you will provide support and guidance to newer or less experienced Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and student nurses. Mount Gambier, South Australia’s second largest city, is located on the gorgeous Limestone Coast and has all the services and facilities you would expect from a metropolitan location, with the lifestyle benefits of country living. We are a teaching hospital with a diverse range of resident and visiting medical specialists and extensive clinical support on site.

 

About You

  • Registered as a Nurse or Nurse/Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, you will hold a current practising certificate.
  • To be a strong contender, you will have a solid background in emergency nursing practice which is highly responsive to patients’ needs.
  • A team player with the demonstrated ability to think on your feet and work within changing environments, you will work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Good organisation skills will be essential, along with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet set timelines whilst working under minimal supervision.
  • You will also possess good communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • To be appointed as a Clinical Nurse you must have at least 3 years full time equivalent, post registration experience and experience in the leadership and direction of student nurses, enrolled nurses, and less experienced registered nurses.
